Our Gully Hut at School - Boys Fun

Sorting it out again.
Finding it a mess.
It started with us looking for a hut.  We found a shaded place, where we didn't have to cut trees down, to make a hut in the gully.  So we asked Mr B, the teacher, for permission to go into the gully and he said "Yes".  Josh got the wood from old picnic tables and we found another picnic table in the gully, as well as shoe lockers.  It used to be a dumping ground for all the old school lockers and gear, but luckily the place we found was not a dumping ground.  It was clear and shady there.  We never had time to play in our hut because we were too busty building steps down into the gully.
Every Thursday we go for a bush walk in the gully for a treat and it's a great adventure for us boys.  When we play in the hut, we build and build our hut to make it bigger and stronger and to grow our muscles.   When we're there we don't have to eat a big lunch because we can eat the grapes and blackberries that are growing there.  They are sweet and delicious.
We talk about what we're going to do next when we're in the hut.  We also talk about boys stuff - like what we're going to do when we're older and we listen to the moaning and groaning girls.   Most of the time we find stuff to put in our hut, when we're on our bush walks.
Our 'Tarzan' vine.
Climbing the mountain of wood.
It was an old deserted hut but now its a great big area for us to have fun in.

  1. Nice Pictures including one of the poisonous mushroom. Dumping grounds are harder to work in because they sometimes have broken glass and rusty cans.Would like to see some more pictures as the hut progresses.

  2. Yes we are living in NZ, we live in the North Island. We tried to visit your blog, but it came out in lots of little squares, not in English.

  3. Yes we will improve on the hut and we will take some more photos as we go.
We are building a BMX track at the top of the gully too. It's a boys paradise/dream. We are building the track out of dirt and old tree stumps. We are getting a digger to help make the track.
