Our Class Makeover

The class walls.
We got a class makeover just before the holidays.  I came to the school in the holidays - none of the others did.  I had a look at the class and my teacher was putting the spelling words on the wall.  I thought "It was awesome" !

On the first day of school I thought it was cool because the colour was green and blue - they are good colours together.  I thought the desks were put around the classroom neatly.  The carpet is soft and it smells funny because it's brand new.

Our new writing corner.

When our class was empty to be fixed up, we went into the Junior room.   It was kind of boring because we had to clean up their mess.   We went into the library sometimes to learn our times tables.

  1. I love the way you boys took photos yourself and choose the one you wanted to got with your writing.
Ben, you were clever to use the word 'awesome', after you changed it because you thought it was a better word to use - good thinking.
Adam the carpet does smell good - that new smell gives off a clean feeling and I certainly notice the warmth from the pink batts when I come to visit your room.
I think cleaning up the mess in the Junior room would have been pretty boring too, Brenden.

  3. Hi Brendan and Adam
Your teacher Tracy told me about your blog, which I think is a fantastic idea. It means I can get to know you even though I have never met you.
I teach at the University of Auckland where clever teachers, like your teacher Tracy, have worked with me.
I love the look of your repainted classroom. I agree, Adam, the green and blue look great together making a perfect background for your work to be displayed. I know what you mean about the funny smell new carpets have Brendan. When we had a new carpet put down it had a strange smell for weeks.
I look forward to hearing more about the things you boys do.

  4. Hi Guys, congratulations on your blog and your new class. I look forward to seeing all the cool things that you write about on your blog.
PS it is a small world, Dr Libby Limbrick used to teach me as a student teacher when i lived in Auckland. Another great reason to blog...you never know who you will run into!

Callum asked Brendan Why did you have to clean up the Junior Classroom? We thought this was unfair.
You have motivated us to start our own blog site. We will let you know when we have posted our stories.

  6. Hi!
Yeah, I can see how your classroom changed.
    It really looks nice ;)
    I like the colors.
    But I have a question...
WHY did you rebuilt the room?

We had to re-build our classroom because it was old and water kept dripping through the pin board and it smelt like dead rats.

We had to clean up after the Juniors because they were doing school work and we weren't, as we had our classroom packed up. We were the responsible and sensible kids.
